LAPD Release New Information and Photos Regarding the April 13, 2017 Homicide Investigation

An 81-year-old woman was killed and burned in her home. L.A. is offering $50,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case that began with an accidental explosion — and ended with an investigation into what caused the blast to go off instead of off. LADWP Board Member Jim Houghton says the situation is unique.

LAPD have released new information and photos regarding the April 13, 2017 homicide investigation and said on Friday, it appears to be an accident.

A 71-year-old woman suffered massive burns and suffered a medical emergency at an apartment complex in the San Gabriel Valley as she tried to put out a fire. Firefighters and emergency crews located the woman before she was taken to a hospital. The woman was taken into custody.

An 85-year-old man is at L.A. County and is being treated at a hospital for injuries suffered in a collision Monday. The man was traveling north on La Brea in his car when a westbound Toyota Camry that was driven by 18-year-old L.A. resident Yoon Jung Yoo crossed the center line and struck his vehicle, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

A 72-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman were shot and killed when the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic violence call Tuesday evening. The woman was shot and killed in her front yard near the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Waco Street in La Habra, according to LASD Sgt. Jason Dwyer. The man and woman were found dead at a home on the 800 block of Crenshaw Boulevard, near Magnolia, Dwyer said.
